Managing Your Privacy Settings
Your privacy on Sociera is customizable, allowing you to control who can view your location, manage blocked users, and secure your account.
1. Accessing Privacy Settings
To adjust privacy-related settings:
Open the Sociera app.
Tap your profile icon in the bottom-right corner.
Go to Settings, where you can manage:
Location Settings
Blocked Accounts
Account Security Options (Email & Phone Number)
2. Managing Location Privacy
Sociera offers location-based discovery features, which you can adjust in Settings > Location Settings:
Allow Location – Enables location sharing to discover nearby professionals.
Ghost Mode – Hides your location from others. When enabled, you also won’t see other users’ locations. Turn it off to discover nearby professionals.
Precise Location – Shares your exact location, but only when both users connect and opt-in.
To completely disable location access, you can:
Navigate to Settings > Location Settings.
Tap Always Allow Location to toggle permissions.
Open your device settings and revoke Sociera's location access.
3. Blocking and Unblocking Users
To prevent specific users from interacting with you:
Go to Settings > Blocked Accounts.
If you have blocked users, they will appear here.
To unblock a user, tap Unblock next to their name.
Blocked users cannot view your profile, send messages, or interact with your content.
4. Securing Your Account
To enhance your account security:
Verify Your Email Address – Go to Settings > Account > Email Address and ensure it's verified.
Add a Phone Number for Login – Navigate to Settings > Account > Login with Phone Number and set up an alternative login method.
These steps help prevent unauthorized access and allow you to recover your account if needed.
5. Deleting Your Account
If you want to permanently delete your account:
Go to Settings > Session > Delete Account.
Read the warning about data removal.
Tap Delete Account, then confirm by selecting Yes, Delete.
Important: Deleting your account is permanent—all connections, preferences, and data will be erased.
Tips for Better Privacy Control
Turn off Ghost Mode if you want to see other users’ locations.
Review your blocked accounts list occasionally to ensure your privacy settings remain up to date.
Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) (if available) for an extra layer of account security.
Keep your email and phone number updated to ensure you can recover your account if needed.
Double-check location settings before attending networking events to manage visibility.
By following these steps, you can manage your privacy and security within Sociera effectively.
